Dealer refused a credit licence

23 August 2004

A Hull-based motor trader will not be allowed to sell finance to car buyers.

Michael Allen, trading as All Right Autos of Inglemire Lane, Hull, applied to the Office of Fair Trading for a consumer credit licence.

The OFT decided that Allen’s convictions for profiting from an illegal business and for controlling a company that breached health and safety regulations made him an unsuitable candidate to arrange finance for motorists.

The rejection does not prevent Allen from buying or selling cars from his All Right Autos business.
