Audi TT Clubsport could be built

  • Audi considering 'small-series' production
  • No roof, no A-pillars and more than 300bhp
  • Ceramic brake discs used on TT for first time

TT Clubsport

It might look like a concept car that will never be built, but Audi says it could well add this Clubsport to the Audi TT range.

The hardcore TT doesn't have a roof, even a cloth one, so it's unsurprising that the company says any production of the car would be 'small-series'.

As well as removing the roof, Audi has fitted a wind-deflecting windscreen that does away with the A pillars.

Power comes from a turbocharged version of the 2.0-litre petrol developing more than 300bhp, at least 40bhp more than it produces in the S3. The four-wheel drive car is also fitted with Audi's six-speed automatic S tronic transmission.

The Clubsport has an 80mm wider track, while 20-inch wheels are housed within enlarged wheelarches. Ceramic brake discs are used on a TT for the first time and, as they don't heat up like conventional discs, don't fade.
