Chevrolet confirms prices for Capitva
- Revised range will start at £21,995
- New styling, more kit, and new engines
- All models have stability control and Bluetooth
Chevrolet has confirmed details of its revised Captiva 4x4.
The changes follow similar revisions to the closely related Vauxhall Antara, and include a face-lift for both the interior and exterior. The most obvious change is a revised front end – with the grille, bumpers and door mirrors all new – and there are further upgrades inside.
Powering the car are the same two new 2.2-litre diesel engines that feature in the revised Antara. The 161bhp unit comes only with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the stronger 181bhp unit is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
The basic model averages 44.1mpg and emits 170g/km, while the corresponding figures for models with the stronger engine and a manual gearbox are 42.8 and 174. Pair the more powerful engine with an automatic gearbox and the economy drops to 36.6mpg, while CO2 emissions jump to 203g/km.
The revised range starts with the LS model, which comes only with the less powerful engine, costs £21,995 (£2000 more than the cheapest Antara) and is the only model in the range with just two-wheel drive and five seats. However, as on every other model, the standard equipment has been upgraded and now includes stability control, Bluetooth, air-conditioning, rain-sensing wipers and four electric windows.
The rest of the range comes with the more powerful engine, seven seats and on-demand four-wheel drive. LT models also have climate control, half-leather trim, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and cruise control, while the flagship LTZ cars have leather trim, sat-nav, a rear-view camera, heated front seats and tinted windows.
The full range, which costs from £21,995 to £31,845, will go on sale in May.
