2006 Mercedes SL

We scour the country to find you the biggest discounts on new cars - and all you have to do is go to our deals pages to find them.

Here's what we mean. You'd normally pay £23,457 for a new VW Sharan 1.8T Sport MPV, but we've found that UK New Cars (01603 667403) is selling one for £19,047.

That's a 19% saving on list price, and an 8% saving on the What Car?'s Target Price - the most you should pay for a new car.

If an MPV isn't up your street, maybe something a little more glamorous is - Carfile (01335 360763) has a Mercedes SL500 for £64,883 – that's almost 16% off the manufacturer's price and our Target Price of £76,777.

A more realistic proposition might be something like a Toyota Auris small family car.

Westlands Toyota (01527 863511) has a 2.2 D-4D T180 with metallic paint for £17,260 - that's 10% off the list price of £19,245 and 7% off the Target Price of £17,716.

If you need a bit more space than an Auris, Dealdrivers (01285 659200) is offering a Jaguar X-Type 2.0D S estate at £18,838 (18% off the £18,838 windscreen sticker price and 9% off the £20,735 Target Price).

For those needing to venture a little further off the beaten track, Motorlogix (0845 2303225) has a Vauxhall Antara 2.0 CDTi S 4x4 on offer.

You can get it for £19,875, saving you 12% on the £22,620 asking price, and 10% on the Target Price.

Finally, New Car 4 Me (0870 9905583) has something that's high in the style department - an Alfa Spider 2.2 JTS.

It's on offer for £23,976, which will net you 8% off the £25,995 list price and 5.5% off our Target Price.

That's not where our deals end, though - for more deals on all kinds of cars, just click here.
