Fiat 500 Abarth: more details
- Hot 500 makes debut at Geneva motor show
- Power from turbocharged 135bhp engine
- Two driving modes possible
Fiat's hot supermini, the 500 Abarth, will make its debut next month at the Geneva motor show.
Powered comes from a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine developing 135bhp, and the car can be driven in two 'modes', thanks to a clever system that allows power to reach the wheels smoothly.
In Sport mode, the driver can use all of the engine's 152lb ft of torque, but in Normal mode, for more mundane driving, pulling power is reduced to a more manageable 132lb ft.
Inside, the 500 Abarth has special instrumentation to distinguish it from standard 500s. This includes a gauge showing turbo pressure and LED lights to tell the driver the optimum moment to change gear.
The 500 Abarth goes on sale later this year and is expected to cost around £14,000.
