First look: new Land Rover Freelander - Introduction

20 June 2006
Land Rover's all-new, second-generation Freelander is about to break cover. Visitors to the British International Motor Show in London at the end of July will be the first in the world to see it. If they're impressed, they'll be able to get their hands on it in December.

Although unmistakably a Freelander, the new car represents a complete departure from the model that was launched in 1997 and updated six years later. Land Rover claims the jump is as big as the one it made when introducing the latest Discovery a couple of years ago.

Read on to discover how the new car shapes up. When it does go on sale, expect prices to start from around £20,000.
