Jeep has released prices of its new two- and four-door Wrangler models

Jeep's new Wrangler goes on sale in May and will cost from £17,995.

The tough off-roader will be available in familiar two-door guise, as well as a four-door, long-wheelbase Unlimited format from £19,995.

The entry-level Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited both use a 2.8-litre diesel and are fitted with manual gearbox, stability and traction control, front airbags, alloy wheels, MP3-compatible stereo and remote central locking.

The two-door version in Sahara trim is only available with an automatic gearbox and costs £21,075. Four-door Unlimited models in Sahara trim cost £22,075 for a manual version and £23,075 with the automatic gearbox. Sahara models have larger alloy wheels, air-conditioning and an upgraded stereo.

The two-door car is also available with a 3.8-litre petrol engine in Rubicon specification for £22,580 - it comes with an automatic four-wheel-drive system and stiffer suspension.

The standard wheelbase Wrangler provides seating for four, while the Unlimited can cater for five. Both come with removable doors, fold-down windscreen and three removable 'Freedom Top' roof panels.

This makes the Wrangler Unlimited the only four-door convertible on sale in the UK, and the only convertible to offer seating for five.
