Lowest insurance group for new Fabia

11 April 2007

The all-new Skoda Fabia will start with a group 1 insurance rating when it goes on sale in May, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

The ABI, which sets insurance group ratings for all new cars sold in the UK, has decided that the entry-level 60bhp 1.2-litre Fabia 1 will fall into group 1, while the top-of-the range 105bhp 1.9-litre TDI Fabia 3 will be in group 4.

Prices start at £7990 for the 60bhp 1.2-litre Fabia 1, rising to £13,015 for the 105bhp 1.9-litre TDI Fabia 3. The car's UK launch is in May, and an estate version is due in early 2008. Until then, the existing Fabia estate will continue to be made.
