New Hyundai i30 Premium model launched
- New Hyundai i30 Premium trim model
- Top-spec version; gets leather trim
- On sale now, from £19,995
The Hyundai i30 is now available in a new, range-topping Premium trim.
Standard equipment for Hyundai i30 Premium models includes all the kit that came with the Convenience and Individual option packs for Style and Style Nav models. These packs are no longer available.
On top of the standard equipment fitted to Style Nav models, Premium trim adds new 17-inch alloy wheels, illuminated door handles with chrome trim, and automatically folding door mirrors with 'puddle lamps', which illuminate your path to and from your car at night.
The cabin gains leather upholstery, electric driver's seat adjustment with lumbar support, heated front seats, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, upgraded information display and passenger seat height adjustment. Keyless entry and ignition is also added.
Premium trim is available for both i30 5dr hatchback and i30 Tourer estate models. It can be combined with either a 118bhp 1.6 petrol or 126bhp 1.6 diesel engine for the hatchback, and the diesel engine for Tourer models.
Hyundai i30 Premium prices start from £19,995; available in 5dr hatchback or Tourer estate forms
Prices for Hyundai i30 Premium models start at £19,995 for the 1.6 petrol hatchback. That's a premium of £1700 over the equivalent Style Nav model; £50 less than the combined cost of the outgoing Convenience (£750) and Individual (£1000) option packs. A tilt and slide panoramic sunroof is a £950 option for Premium models only.
Hyundai has made other tweaks to the i30 model line-up; a new 126bhp automatic diesel model replaces the previous 108bhp version, while the 108bhp engine is now available only for Classic and Active models. The 126bhp diesel can now be combined only with the top three trims. Three new paint colours have been added to the current choice of six.
Prices and trims for the new Hyundai i30 3dr are yet to be finalised. It goes on sale later this year and will hit showrooms in January.
