New Kia Sedona set for debut
- All-new Sedona MPV unveiled at Geneva
- New petrol V6 and diesel power boost for Sorento
- Small family concept car, too
Kia unveils its all-new Sedona MPV at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside an updated, more powerful Sorento and a secret concept car.
The new seven-seater Sedona goes on sale in the UK in September, with a choice of a 2.7-litre V6 petrol or a 2.9-litre diesel engine, each producing 183bhp. Expect prices to start at just over £16,000.
The middle row now features three individually folding, sliding and reclining seats, and, like the rear pair, they can be removed to boost luggage space. It's taller and wider than the current car, but it's also shorter, so there's less luggage space when you're carrying seven passengers.
Both the petrol and diesel in the face-lifted Sorento 4x4 see significant increases in output. The diesel leaps from 138bhp to 168bhp, while the new 3.3-litre V6 petrol offers 40bhp more than the old 3.5-litre engine, at 332bhp.
Material quality in the cabin is improved, says Kia, while the fascia and centre console have been reorganised. Rear legroom has also been boosted by reshaping the back of the front seats. Prices are expected to start at about £20,000.
Kia will also pull the wraps from a small family car-based concept, but the company is saying nothing more about the car until the show.
