Order books open for new TT

10 April 2006

Audi dealers are now taking orders for the new TT coupe, with first deliveries expected in October.

The two-wheel-drive 2.0-litre Turbo FSI model costs from £24,625, while the 3.2-litre Quattro costs from £29,285.

Standard equipment on the 2.0-litre includes, alloy wheels, electric windows, climate control, traction control, ESP, leather and alacantara interior, and that retractable spoiler on the back.

The 3.2 V6 gets 18-inch alloy wheels, all-leather upholstery, heated front seats and four-wheel-drive.

A soft-top convertible won't be here until next spring, and a quasi-estate version, shown last year as the Shooting Brake concept, is expected in 2008.

If the results of a whatcar.com survey are an indication of the new TT's popularity, Audi dealers can expect a busy time in the autumn. More than 72% of readers who responded said they loved the new car, while 27% insisted they loathed the coupe.
