Peugeot has released prices for its 207 CC

Peugeot's new 207 CC will cost from £14,795 when it goes on sale in the UK in March.

That makes the entry-level 120bhp 1.6-litre petrol Sport £650 more expensive than the cheapest 206 CC, although engine and safety equipment levels are both improved slightly.

In all, three engines and two trim levels are available. A 110bhp 1.6-litre diesel costs from £15,895 and, like the entry-level petrol, it is available in GT trim for a £1200 premium.

A turbocharged 150bhp 1.6-litre petrol is only available in GT trim for £16,895, £1025 more than the 138bhp 2.0-litre it replaces, and £900 more than the equivalent GT version of the 120bhp petrol.

Improvements across the board include the standard inclusion of side airbags in all models as well as an airbag to prevent injuries caused by the steering column.

The steering wheel also now adjusts for reach as well as rake, as in the supermini, so more motorists should be able to get more comfortable in the driving seat.

Sport models come with air-conditioning, alloy wheels, CD stereo, electric windows and door mirrors and remote central locking. GT specification adds larger 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control and larger alloy wheels.
