Porsche has launched its second recall of 2006, and Fiat wants to inspect the suspension of more than 10,000 Multipla MPVs.

The Porsche recall affects 114 Boxsters, 911s and the first Cayman coupes off the production line.

Porsche has found that in certain circumstances, the parking brake could fail because of a potentially faulty bearing. Cars built between November 22 and December 13 are affected.

In the second recall, Fiat wants to inspect the front suspension of 10,284 diesel Multiplas built between May 1, 1999 and December 31, 2004. The manufacturer has found that the coil springs on the suspension could fail, bursting the front tyres and leading to a loss of control.

Vehicles which carry the VIN numbers ZFA18600002026501 to ZFA18600002234408 are covered by the Fiat recall.

Both manufacturers are contacting the owners of potentially affected cars with the offer of free checks and remedial work.
