Hyundai's i30 small family hatchback will cost from £10,995 when it goes on sale here in September.
That buys you an entry-level 1.4-litre petrol model in Comfort trim - and it's the same starting price as its sister car, the Kia 'd.
There are three trims - Comfort, Style and Premium, and a choice of four engines - 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol units and 1.6- and 2.0-litre diesels.
Five-speed manual gearboxes are fitted to the petrols and the lower-powered diesel, while the 2.0-litre diesel has a six-speed transmission. A four-speed automatic gearbox is available for an extra £1000 on the 1.6-litre engines.
All cars come with electronic stability control and traction control, six airbags, active front headrests and air-conditioning.
An MP3-compatible stereo with steering wheel-mounted controls, all-round electric windows and alloy wheels are also all standard, even on the basic models.
Style cars have bigger alloy wheels, tyre-pressure monitors, part-leather seats and a leather steering wheel.
Top-trim Premium models have even bigger alloy wheels (17-inch), reversing sensors, full leather seats and automatic windscreen wipers.
