Special-edition Colts from Mitsubishi

18 May 2007

Mitsubishi has launched two new special editions of its Colt supermini.

Based on the three-door versions of the car, Colt Black Hawks come in black with silver stripes running over the roof from front to rear and privacy glass in the side and rear windows.

The lowest-priced Black Hawk (£8021) has a 74bhp 1.1-litre petrol engine, which Mitsubishi claims is capable of returning an average of 51mpg. 16-inch alloy wheels are standard on this car, but air-conditioning is a £595 option.

The Black Hawk CZT (£13,026) is based on the Colt CZT and has a turbocharged 147bhp 1.5-litre engine, which can propel the car to 62mph in 7.2sec from a standing start and on to a top speed of 132mph.

Black Hawk CZT cars have more equipment than the standard CZT, including sports seats, rear spoiler, front foglamps, sports grille, all-round disk brakes, steering-wheel mounted controls for the six-speaker radio/CD player and 17-inch alloy wheels.

400 Colt Black Hawks are being made, and 200 Black Hawk CZT models. The new cars are in showrooms now.
