The Evolution continues

17 July 2006

This is the latest incarnation of Mitsubishi's famous Evo - the FQ-360, which will be officially launched at this week's British Motor Show.

The £35,504 FQ-360 is a top-of-the-range Evo, which Mitsubishi says provides a more driveable package than the extreme, limited-edition FQ-400.

Even so, its 366bhp engine means the FQ-360 can hit 60mph in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 160mph. The next-fastest £32,999 FQ-340 posts figures of 4.3sec and 157mph.

The FQ-360 has a carbon-fibre front lip spoiler and a 'shark-tooth' roof spoiler. It is also fitted with new Speedline five-spoke alloy wheels that hark back to the Lancer rally car.

Kit includes climate control, all-round electric windows, a category 1 alarm system and four airbags. The FQ-360 also uses the oddment space under the stereo for a 'Ralliart Sports Meter Kit', comprising three dials to show battery voltage, oil temperature and boost pressure.

The FQ-360 is on sale now, with first deliveries in September.
