If you're one of those people who still thinks the TT hangs on to top spot in the coupe sales charts only because of the way it looks, book a test drive.
The TT is a wonderful amalgam of slinky coupe and sports car. That it delivers sensational performance shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, given the extensive use of lightweight aluminium in its body and the presence of a powerful 208bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
Perhaps more of a revelation is how it manages to blend sensational dynamism with everyday usability. Hit the brakes hard, tuck in to a tight bend and you can't fail to be impressed by just how neutral the car feels, thanks to its taut body control and boundless grip.
On straights, you'll be amazed that the same suspension that holds the car so securely in corners can also flatten out lumps and bumps with such ease.
Follow up these high jinks with a motorway cruise and the TT's refinement only serves to confirm that it is the consummate sports coupe.
