The best sports car of 2012 should keep you entertained, but not at the expense of all else. Our winner had to make us want to go out for a blast whenever possible, but also be reasonably relaxed when all we wanted to do was ‘get there’.

It needed to be able to carry a minimum of two people and their luggage, and if it could do so without taking too much of a toll on the planet’s resources, even better.  If it managed all that, it would be a worthy recipient of our best sports car of 2012 accolade.
