This might be the entry-level 911, but within a few yards you'll be well aware that it's a fully paid-up member of the supercar club.
Put your foot flat on the floor and the 345bhp 3.4-litre flat-six engine and PDK twin-clutch gearbox will fling the 911 past 62mph in 4.6sec. Throw a few corners into the equation and the 911 will amaze with its sheer grip.
However, what makes the car stand out from its peers is how easy it is to live with; you really can use it every day without a second thought. It's quiet when you're at speed on the motorway, and it deals with urban nose-to-tail traffic without even a hint of becoming flustered.
The PDK gearbox is smooth and unobtrusive, and enhances the 911's efficiency. Not many cars with this performance emit just 194g/km of CO2 and can average 34.4mpg.
You'll love the interior, too, because it's simply but beautifully designed and solidly put together. It's best to view the rear seats as just extra cargo space, though.
