The BMW X4 is a coupé version of the BMW X3 SUV that’s very slightly longer and has a more rakish roofline. It’s 4cm lower, too, although it’s still taller than many premium SUVs, including the Audi Q3 and BMW’s own X1. In looks, it is very like its bigger brother, the BMW X6.
The X4’s closest rivals are the Porsche Macan, and sportier versions of the Land Rover Evoque. All versions of the X4 are four-wheel drive, although off-roading isn’t what the X4 is about. Instead, it’s a sporty, road-going SUV that, at least by the standards of the class, is surprisingly agile.
