A - Alternative fuels

Alternative fuels - Broadly speaking, anything that powers a car that is not petrol or diesel. The most freely available are CNG and LPG (see separate entries).
Often a car's engine runs on either of these, as well as petrol. (See also Fuel cell and Hydrogen.)
