Badge - Many buyers will be put off an otherwise very good car because of the badge, even though cars such as the Seat Ibiza, VW Polo and Skoda Fabia have a great deal in common. This can have a serious effect on value, because a car that is undesirable when new will remain so in the used market, pushing second-hand prices down.
