D - Dampers

Dampers - Dampers control the speed at which the suspension's springs react to holes and bumps in the road surface. If the dampers are too soft, the car will bounce along the road, wallow in corners and feel as if it is floating. Too hard, and the ride will be harsh and jarring as imperfections in the road surface are sent into the body and cabin of the car. Dampers are also called shock absorbers.
