Gearbox- Most cars have the choice of a manual or an automatic gearbox. The former gives you more control, while an automatic gearbox, which changes gear for you, will be popular with those who want an easier drive.
In most cases, choosing an auto will increase fuel consumption but to get good residual values, it's important to choose the right gearbox. An executive car with a manual gearbox, for example, may not be as sought-after on the used market as a car with an automatic gearbox.
