Jumping queues - Tactics used to beat the waiting list for a new car. You may face a shorter wait if you import a car, in particular if you buy a model with left-hand-drive (although this will affect its resale value).
You can scan the classifieds in our sister magazine Autocar, in case someone who has just picked up their car is selling it, admittedly at a higher price. Or, if you call around dealers, you may pick up a cancelled order.
