Office of Fair Trading - This Government agency exists to safeguard consumers against poor practice, guide them before they buy and help them in the event of a complaint.

Its website (www.oft.gov.uk) has a dedicated section on cars which covers buying new and used cars as well as servicing and repair. There are useful sections on your rights as a buyer, and very good advice on buying over the internet.
