Audi have finally revealed the new Audi A3 which is set to be stylish, luxurious and more hi-tech than ever and it will arrive here in early 2012. The A3 will be available in four body styles including a Saloon version for the first time. Audi will give customers a choice of either hybrid or electric motors for the new A3 too.
The sketches based of official Audi documents show a more angular Audi A3 with A5 inspired LED headlights and a large grille featured is from the concept vehicle Audi displayed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The new roof, rear pillars and pronounced creases called Tornado Lines give the A3 a sportier look.
The interior of the new Audi A3 will feature chunkier heater controls, eyeball style air vents and a soft-touch dashboard made from high quality materials. Hi-tech gadgets will be fitted to the new A3 including a sat-nav system which uses satellite images taken from Google Maps.
Engines will range from a 1.2 litre all the way up to a 2.0 litre turbo which delivers 210bhp. Diesel engine options will include a 1.6 and 2.0-litre TDI producing 170bhp and a new frugal TDIe engine which will achieve more than 80mpg will be available sometime in the near future. Audi are also planning an all-electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions for late 2013 but no details of these engines have been released by Audi yet.
The new A3 will handle better than previous Audi A3 models due to the new MQB chassis and the use of aluminium to reduce weight. Audi will also offer Drive Select and Adaptive Dampers to further improve the handling of the new Audi A3. The new Audi A3 will be available to lease in early 2012 with price is expected to be in the region of £22,000.
