The first snaps of the vehicle have certainly garnered plenty of attention, as it presents drivers with an entirely new design when compared to the outgoing model.
On top of this, the fact that the all-new Skoda Octavia boasts a high level of functionality, comes packed with innovative safety and comfort systems, offers low fuel consumption and is installed with the brand's 'Simply Clever' solutions has got the motoring industry talking.
Winfried Vahland, the chief executive of Skoda, acknowledged that the Skoda Octavia has long been "the heart of the Skoda brand".
"It embodies the good Skoda genes in the best sense of the word: lots of room, quality, precise workmanship, modern, mature technology, timeless design, high functionality and the best price-value ratio," he underlined.
However, Mr Vahland was keen to stress that the expectations of the manufacturer's customers have changed in recent years and the designers have had to change their approach to match the demand.
As such, the third-generation Skoda Octavia has been styled to blend a dynamic design with a look that is timelessly elegant with relative ease.
Explaining this part of the all-new Octavia's development, Frank Welsch, a board member for technical development at Skoda, pointed out: "Each line and gap breathes love of precision and detail. The new Octavia is an unmistakable face in the automobile crowd."
Safety is another eye-catching feature of the third-generation Octavia, with Skoda fitting the vehicle with a Front Assistant/emergency braking function and a handy Lane Assistant feature.
Mr Welsch concluded: "The new Octavia shows us resolutely continuing down a Skoda-typical road. It is a car with middle-class qualities at a compact-car price."
