The vehicle has been designed with the desire to build on the go-anywhere and user-friendly characteristics that the outgoing Forester model has long been praised for.
With the new SUV for Subaru, drivers will be presented with a vehicle that can produce 150ps with the aid of a Boxer diesel or petrol unit, as well as 280ps should the new 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine be the more desired option.
The fourth-generation Subaru Forester also sees the return of the Japanese manufacturer's innovative Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, while enhanced body rigidity and a low centre of gravity should see the car being able to handle just about any road conditions or manoeuvres with relative ease.
Haydn Davies, marketing director at Subaru UK, acknowledged: "Since the Forester's launch in 1997, it has gained a loyal following across the UK for its rugged, go anywhere abilities and these developments will ensure it remains a firm SUV favourite.
"The fourth-generation Forester will feature the latest All-Wheel Drive system and Boxer engines, while a lot of work has gone into improving refinement, ride quality and safety."
The all-new Subaru Forester is released next summer.
