Audi details the all-new S3 Sportback

German car giant Audi will be expanding its popular range of A3 vehicles this year with the launch of the Audi S3 Sportback turbocharged hot hatch.

Presented with a five-door design – adding two doors from its predecessor, the standard Audi S3 – the vehicle also stands out for boasting a longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.

Another appealing factor of the Audi S3 Sportback is the incredible performance which is presented through the German car giant's brand-new long-stroke 2.0-litre TFSI engine.

With this motor arrangement in place, Audi's turbocharged hot hatch can deliver peak power of 5,500rpm and maximum torque of between 1,800 and 5,500 rpm.

These figures translate to a vehicle which can jump from 0-62mph in a scorching five seconds and then go on to reach a top speed of 155mph when the engine is combined with an S tronic twin-clutch transmission system.

As well as being able to travel like a bullet, the Audi S3 Sportback is also an eye-catching piece of machinery.
Just looking around the exterior of the hot hatch and motorists will be able to admire an S-specific single-frame grille, which features matt platinum grey inserts and is finished with a coat of aluminium.

The same aluminium look has also been applied to the car's horizontal double bars and its all-new bumper's double ribs, while the fact that the hot hatch's large air inlets have pronounced edges in high-gloss black honeycomb hue only adds to its character.

Drivers can then add their own touch of personality to their Audi S3 Sportback by opting for one of the 14 paintjobs on offer for the vehicle, which includes the exclusive and astonishing crystal-effect finishes of Panther Black and Estoril Blue.

The Audi S3 Sportback turbocharged hot hatch will make its public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month, before launching onto UK roads this September.
