German car maker BMW has been showered with high praise at this year's Fleet News Awards, after the brand took home four illustrious trophies from the decorated event.
However, this was just the beginning of a special night for BMW at the 25th annual Fleet News Awards event - the biggest ever ceremony to be set up by the organisation.
This is because by the time the last award was handed out at the event, more than 1,500 people in attendance had also seen the BMW 3 Series take home the prestigious Best New Company Car gong.
Commenting on why the vehicle was afforded such high praise at the glorious event, the judging panel for this year’s Fleet News Awards noted: “Low running costs, class-leading residual values and the most efficient models in this category make the 3 Series stand out.
“It’s a great car to drive and the auto versions are equally as economical and impressive which opens up a whole new market for this car.”
The group of judges were also keen to stress the brilliant design and performance of the award-winning BMW 5 Series, by pointed out that the car “is a great all-rounder, while the balance of economy and performance in the Efficient Dynamics version is class-leading”.
“Strong residuals, short lead times, fresh styling and an outstanding drive, the 5 Series is an executive car that appeals to young and old,” they continued.
As if this was all not enough, BMW rounded out their incredible trophy haul at the 2013 Fleet News Awards by taking home the organisation’s huge feat of being Fleet Manufacturer of the Year 2013.
