The brand new model is available from £7,995, costing exactly the same as the Volkswagen up! The refreshed design features a new front end with a modern grille and some smart LED daytime running lights.
Citroen have introduced a much more upmarket interior to the vehicle, with high quality trim, optional leather or Alcantara seats and a leather steering wheel and gearstick gaiter.
Changes have been made to the three cylinder 1.0-litre engine to bring CO2 emissions down to 99g/km, whilst keeping the original power of 67bhp. The new Citroen C1 can complete 0-62mph in a remarkable 12.3 seconds, nearly a second faster than the top of the range Volkswagen Up!
The Citroen C1 is superb for travelling through potholed city streets thanks to supple suspension and tweaked shock absorbers. One drawback is that the vehicle isn't the most agile, but it's still an enjoyable drive due to instant and responsive steering.
For a top of the range Citroen C1 it would cost £10,000 – the same price as the well prepared Hyundai i10 or capable VW Up! Obvious improvements have been made to the model, making the new C1 great value for money.
