Skoda’s ‘vRS’ performance brand has long been associated with bringing power to the people, with its attractive combination of practical performance and budget-beating price tags. And this new Octavia vRS model was getting a lot of admiring glances when I dropped by.
Freshly available as either this 4-door saloon or a large-load-carrying estate, the new Octavia vRS looks to have kept much of what made the previous model great – huge interior and boot, good equipment levels and smile-raising turbocharged performance – all presented with a price that starts at a touch over £20k. As they say, that’s a lot of car for your money.
Seen here in a pulsating electric blue, the new Octavia vRS saloon has gone all aggressive on us. The new front-end is peppered with fashionable LED running lights, and the old model’s curves have made way for much sharper body lines. Hence its aggressive-looking face.
The modern and sharp styling wraps around the rest of the new Octavia vRS, and in my opinion looks bang on for a performance saloon. The spacious interior and cavernous boot happily remain in this saloon variant, surely making this one very hard to resist for those that love the vRS badge.
