The Kia pro_cee’d GT is set to go on sale in the UK, designed to offer high performance despite an affordable price tag.
Available from July 1st, it is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine and offers 265 Nm of torque. It will reach 60mph in 7.4 seconds and boasts a top speed of 143mph.
Kia says the steering has been tuned to offer a sporting feel and a function that allows drivers to select three power assistance options in other versions of the pro_cee’d has been removed. The sporty credentials are enhanced by a lower, broader bumper and red brake calipers, although the manufacturer has aimed for comfort and practicality with everyday use in mind.
Prices start at £19,995, with a GT Tech version featuring the likes of heated seats, a reversing camera display and auto-dimming rear-view mirror for a further £2,500.
If you’re willing to fork out £23,995, the launch model pro_cee’d GT 1st Edition will include features such as a tilting and sliding electric sunroof, but only 50 of the 500 produced have been earmarked for the UK.
