LA Motor Show: The best of the best

The LA Motor Show once again gave motoring enthusiasts the opportunity to see some of the exciting new cars in development, and the thrilling potential models of the future.

It delivered, as it usually does, some top class stalls from some of the finest and most iconic names in the business.

Here are just five of the best models on show at the American West Coast show.

Ford Edge Concept

The display of the Ford Edge concept offered a glimpse into the future of Ford design in 2014.

The car signifies Ford's latest foray into the large SUV market, and it looks like it is set to challenge some of the best existing models currently out on UK roads.

A version of the Edge has already proved popular in the US, and drivers on home soil will soon reap the rewards this functional, powerful car provides.

Furthermore, the car delivers a whole range of automated driving technologies including self-parking and obstacle avoidance that will benefit Ford's already loyal customer base and new customers.

Subaru Legacy Concept

The release of the Legacy signifies the next-generation of its future design direction, with the car celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2014.

According to Subaru, the model is a dynamic, secure and practical saloon car, building on an already solid reputation.

The vehicle features some of the most high-tech features ever seen in a Subaru's interior offering, with the Legacy boasting a "smartphone style" centre console and an extended instrument panel.

It's a classy, refined design.

Porsche Macan

Porsche has revealed its latest model, hoping to cross the boundary between the SUV and the sporty road car.

The compact crossover builds on the success of the Cayenne, but offers drivers a slightly smaller alternative.

It is a refreshing take on the compact SUV and certainly got heads turning at the LA event.

Jaguar F-Type

Possibly the most hotly anticipated model in Jaguar's recent history, the F-Type was delivered following a sophisticated cross-platform marketing campaign, before visitors to the motor show were the first motoring fans in the world to put their eyes on the model.

It's a stunning new model from the iconic manufacturer and is able to achieve 0-60mph in 4.0-seconds, while 186mph can be hit at top speeds. Drivers are sure to be fighting over the latest in Jaguar design.

Maserati Ghibli

The Maserati Ghibli made its North American debut at the site and the limited edition concept is a gorgeous piece of kit.

Capable of a top speed of 191mph and can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 4.6mph. In addition to being a limited edition, drivers will have to pick up a model quick before it flies past!

Special features include a unique paint job, which continues through to the 20-inch rims, and a mirror-polish finish that increases the sporty and technical image.

According to Maserati, the car is intended to be an intriguing mix between classic design and contemporary delivery.
