The Lexus CT 200h is due to go into production at the end of 2010, Lexus hope to compete against the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3. With more and more people following the Hybrid revolution the firm's first compact five-door car is ready for the task. The Lexus CT 200h was previewed at the Frankfurt motor show last year and it received plenty of interest. The Lexus has the Familiar family face but the rest of the hatchback design, including a stylish wraparound rear windscreen, represents new territory for the Japanese manufacturer. The interior of the CT 200h is a wealth of luxury materials to compete against its premium rivals, it also features an 8” screen that displays the cars infotainment which is controlled by a remote touch pad which works very much like a computer mouse. Lexus has years of hybrid experience behind them and the CT200h has been fitted with the most up to date version of their hybrid technology. The 1.8 litre VVTi petrol engine works in-partnership with an electric motor which together produce a performance similar to a 2.o litre engine. The Lexus CT 200h 1.8 engine VVTi also leads the way with reduced Co2 emissions. The Lexus hybrid engine is capable of working in either petrol mode or electric mode it can also work as a combination of both petrol and electric. The CT200h offers 4 different driving modes Eco, Normal, Dynamic and EV mode which allows the car to run on battery power alone with a top speed of 28 mph for 2 kilometers. The other modes progressively sharpen the throttle and steering for a more responsive drive.
