I had the pleasure of seeing the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz A Class at the German Touring Cars event at Brands Hatch in May and I have to take my hat off to Mercedes as this in no face lift or safe upgrade. The new 2012 Mercedes-Benz A Class is a stunning hatchback that will have BMW and Audi taking note as never before have Mercedes really troubled them in the family hatchback arena.
Other than the fact I wasn’t able to drive the car and could only inspect it from a visual perspective I could see no area that it may lack in practicality to achieve the sporty appearance. The cabin looked fantastic with sports seats and a modern feel with plenty of leg room and boot space at the rear.
Mercedes are releasing various engines in both Diesel and Petrol boasting fantastic economy and low CO2. The pick of the bunch being the 2.0 turbo petrol with 208BHP, and 0-62 of 6.6 seconds!
It’s rumoured that prices will start at around the £20,000 mark and will appeal to a younger audience unlike the previous model. It should be on sale in the UK at the back end of 2012 and we expect the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz A Class leasing offers to be very strong.
