MINI ups the fun with all new Hatch

Since the iconic model returned in 2001, the new generation MINI has seen its Hatch model at the height of motoring fun, excitement and driving pleasure.

It's popularity has seen a number of alternative models released, including the Clubman, Coupe, Roadster and Countryman. However, the Hatch is still more than capable of turning heads and delivering joy as it cruises through the UK's towns, cities and countryside.

MINI is not satisfied with resting on its laurels and has therefore revealed the all new version of the Hatch at its production plant in Oxford.

The iconic car maintains the contemporary stylings it has delivered since its return to the market at the start of the 21st century - bar one or two slight alterations - but includes completely new features from bonnet to boot.

MINI has taken each component of the vehicle back to its dream factory to create something that truly embodies the energy of the car while improving function and style.

After tinkering and tailoring the car to match their desires, the designers have delivered the 'The New Original'. Not only does it feature technological developments and improved performance, it also sets a benchmark for the future development of the MINI.

Of course, capturing the MINI's original image of a UK classic, the model made its worldwide debut adorned in a full Union Jack design.

Peter Schwarzenbauer, BMW Group's board member for MINI, BMW Motorrad, Rolls-Royce, Aftersales BMW Group, said: “MINI is an inspiration for trend-setters and creative spirits the world over. And with our latest generation of MINI Hatch, we want to excite once again. To ensure the new generation of MINI Hatch is as successful as its predecessors, we have made just subtle modifications to its design. But beneath the outer skin is a brand-new car with state-of-the-art technologies seen for the first time in a small car. ”

The thrilling and exciting drive that makes the stomach tingle and the smile broaden is enhanced by a newly revised suspension system that helps to increase handling properties.

Weight has also been reduce to improve agility, harking back to old MINI's that mimicked the experience of go-kart driving with your friends while you were still a young whippersnapper.

In fact, the whole design makes you feel like a kid again! The MINI is the car that many of us remember as a child, hoping that one day you'd get your hands on the diminutive demon.

The changes extend to the cabin, improving space and incorporating a brand new display. While the adult will appreciate the improved legroom and luggage space, the kid in you will be dazzled by the vertically arranged circular dials with colour panelled displays, framed by LED lighting that changes colour depending on the driving mode.

An 8.8-inch colour display panel with a touch controller in the centre console also gives it that space-age feel - something that those who are young at heart will adore.

The MINI Cooper Hatch comes in a choice of three entirely new engines, all featuring MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, giving each model a little extra kick when putting the pedal to the floor.

As low emissions, high-fuel efficiency, great interior space and driver assistance technologies take care of the practical elements of driving, you can just embrace the fun of sitting behind the wheel in a brand new MINI.
