New Mercedes-Benz vies to be most powerful

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its brand new performance roadster, alongside the impressive statistics and features that are expected to make it one of the most powerful models in its class.

The manufacturer has announced the brand new S 65 AMG will come equipped with 12 cylinders, twin-turbocharging, 630 hp of output and 1000 Newton-metres of torque.

All this helps to deliver a 0-62 mph speed of 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph.

With this power, the model must come with a certain amount of responsibility. This is achieved through the world's first suspension system with eyes, as Road Surface Scan helps to alert the Magic Body Control technology.

By analysing the road surface undulations in advance, the scanner sends information to the body control system to alter the suspension accordingly.

A head-up display and touchpad are also new innovations for Mercedes, with the former showing vehicle speed, speed limits, navigation information and traffic signs on the windscreen. It looks like it is virtually displayed two metres away from the driver on the bonnet - in perfect position for the person behind the wheel's field of view.

Under the bonnet is Mercedes exclusive carbon-fibre/aluminium engine cover, which helps to protect the monstrous AMG 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine underneath.

Other highlights of the model include the ECO start/stop function, alternator management and an air-to-water intercooler with low-temperature circuit.
