The new Mondeo is by far the most desirable Mondeo Ford has ever built. The new look has been heavily influenced by the four door Evos concept cars which Ford hope will change the everyday image the old car had. The new Ford Mondeo which is due to hit the road next summer will feature at the 2012 Geneva motor show with a host of new gadgets.
From recent spy shots and inside information the latest illustrations show how the new Mondeo with Fords latest Kinetic 2 design language should look. The styling at the front of the new family saloon looks a little like a Aston Martin Vantage or Jaguar Xk and with the defined lines which run down the side to the bulging rear arches where it meets the steeply raked roofline help reveal the Ford Mondeos sporty intentions. A large grille similar to the one found on the New Ford Focus has been fitted to the Mondeo, but this new grille is now mounted further up the bonnet which highlights how narrow the new headlights are.
The 2.0-litre petrol engine with electric motors featured in the Ford Evos Concept vehicle will be used in the future which can travel 50 miles on electric alone which will give the new Ford Mondeo a total range of 500 miles on a full tank. The New Mondeo will start off with Fords 1.6 and 2.0 litre EcoBoost petrol turbo which produces 200bhp and can achieve 36mpg, while the 1.6 which can also be found in the Ford C-MAX produces either 150bhp or 180bhp. A range of diesel engines will include a 1.6 litre 112bhp TDCi and a 2.0 TDCi with either 137bhp or 163bhp. All engines will receive some kind of eco tweak to improve engine efficiency, these will include Fords brake regeneration system, Stop-Start and active aerodynamics that can close the grille at high speeds to improve fuel efficiency. Ford will use the current chassis for the new Mondeo but this will be modified to include Fords torque vectoring system, which helps shift the power between the two front wheels to help prevent under steer when cornering.
Ford hope to bridge the gap between them and their German rivals Audi and BMW. The inside of the new Mondeo will be fitted with high quality materials and a range of hi-tech gadgets which will make it one of the most advanced vehicles on the road. The Ford Mondeos SYNC entertainment system can play audio, deal with voice commands read text messages through a Bluetooth connected smart phone. Other features will include lane monitoring assist, blind spot monitoring and parking assistance control. All Ford Lease Cars are available on cheap lease deals with free road tax and in most cases free delivery to all parts of the UK.
