Sketches of the Hyundai i40 saloon show that this Ford Mondeo rival certainly looks the part ahead of its debut at the Barcelona Motor show on the 12th of May 2011, earlier this year the estate version of the Hyundai i40 made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Hyundai wanted to target European customers so this is the reason why they wanted to launch the i40 at the Barcelona motor show as they see it as modern city within Europe.
From the i40 sketches you can see the influence of Hyundais current Fluidic Design behind the car which was designed at Russelsheim in Germany which is Hyundais European Headquarters. Chief Designer, Thomas Burkle commented that they used fluid lines when designing the Hyundai i40 to help give the new vehicle distinctive looks. So the design team moved away from the normal look of most saloon cars and came up with a sporty coupe look, they achieved this by keeping the roof line low so that its hard to see where the bonnet ends and the boot starts.
The new Hyundai i40 wheelbase is 2.77 metre long so not only does the i40 ooze stylish looks, it will also be one of the most comfortable cars in its class as Hyundai claim the i40 has the most leg, head and shoulder room. We will release more details about the new Hyundai i40 after the Barcelona Motor Show and how you can lease the Hyundai i40 from Lease-Cars-Direct.
