In a world where the evolution of cars is at top speed and there are new models released on a monthly basis what is a family car? A Nissan Juke crossover, A ford Focus?, A Vauxhall Zafira? Or a SEAT Exeo?, Maybe a Vauxhall Meriva?
I’m none the wiser either so I thought I’d look at what I’d choose and what represents good value.
My first pick for an average sized hatchback that represents technology, value and is very spacious for a family of 4 is the Citroen DS4 (top right) 1.6 e-HDI DStyle 5dr. At under £200 per month, 18” alloy wheels and massaging front seats the family driver will not be out of pocket and stress free!
Next would be the fantastic Kia Sportage 2.0 CDTI KX-3 5dr, with a host of goodies coming as standard this 4x4 is both economical, capable in adverse weather conditions and looks like a prestige vehicle. Sat Nav, parking camera, heated front and rear seats as standard all for under £300 per month!
My favourite though would be the BMW 3 Series 318D Touring, with boot space in abundance, cruise control and the badge for the street cred. Starting at £265+vat on a business lease company car drivers get the best of both a family car and a motorway cruiser covering all angles.
