You won't ever be able to buy this Alfa 8C Competizione Spider, but another new convertible from the stylish Italian stable is on its way to UK showrooms next summer.
Alfa has built the 8C Spider for the exclusive American Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance, which kicks off on August 21, and has chosen the brand as one of its featured marques.
Rules dictate that Alfa has to show a concept car as a result, so it has taken the knife to one of the two 8C Competizione coupes it created for the Frankfurt Show in 2003.
Neither of the 8Cs will ever reach production, but if you're after a sexy new Alfa coupe or convertible, don’t despair.
The new Brera coupe replaces the GTV early in the year, while the convertible version of the car follows late summer.
Alfa unveiled the Brera at the Geneva Motor Show this March and might bring the drop top to the Frankfurt Show in September.
Open the gallery to see an exclusive computer-generated preview of what the Spider is likely to look like as well as official shots of the Brera and more pictures of the two 8Cs.
