Citroen has added a sporty-looking VTR model to its C3 supermini range.
Citroen has added a sporty-looking VTR model to its C3 supermini range.
The new arrival is powered by the 109bhp 1.6-litre that is already available in Exclusive trim.
At £12,545, the VTR costs the same as the Exclusive, although cashback deals available until the end of January 2005 slash £2000 off this price. Cars must be registered before the end of March 2005 to qualify for the cashback offer, which is on top of any dealer discount.
The VTR is set apart by unique 16-inch alloy wheels, wheel-arch extensions and a chrome exhaust pipe. A redesigned front end has a newly styled bumper, broader air intakes and modified foglights. Inside, sports seats, a black leather steering wheel and gear knob, and grey trim give it a sporty feel.
As with Exclusive variants, air-conditioning, electric front windows and four airbags come as standard. The car comes with a manual gearbox only. Citroen's electronic stability programme and traction control are available as optional extras.
Its performance figures are identical to Exclusive cars, so the VTR sprints to 62mph in 9.7sec and tops 119mph. It returns 43.5mpg on the combined cycle and will cost a lower-rate company driver £41 a month in tax.
