A sportier, limited edition Clio Renaultsport 182 is now available ahead of the all-new Clio supermini this autumn.
Just 500 of the £15,500 Trophy editions are being made. Specially designed for the UK, it has no more power than the regular 182bhp Clio, and its 0-62mph time is the standard 6.9sec. However, it does have stiffer and lower suspension for sharper handling.
Buyers also get new lightweight alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats with increased side support and a chunkier, leather-clad steering wheel.
Whatcar.com trade insiders suggest savings of around £1000 can be made if buyers haggle.
The arrival of the new Clio supermini range later this year will spell the end for the rear-wheel-drive, two-seat V6 Clio Renaultsport 255. Renault said the replacements for the 182 models, which are likely to feature more powerful engines, will take styling cues from the aggressive £27,105 rear-engined V6.
