Kia has put a diesel version of its Sportage compact 4x4 on sale.

Kia has released a diesel version of its Sportage compact 4x4.
The generously equipped off-roader starts at £15,695 for the CRDi XE, which comes with six airbags, a CD player, air-conditioning and electric windows as standard.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 111bhp and 245lb ft of pull, which gets the manual version to 60mph in 13.8sec and on to a top speed of 104mph. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 39.8mpg.
Choosing an auto ’box costs £1000. The automatic version takes 16.1sec to hit 60mph from rest and goes on to a 100mph maximum speed.
