Renault is launching a new limited-edition version of its Megane Cabriolet, which is being replaced this summer.
The Megane Cabriolet Fidji costs from £14,995 with the 1.6-litre petrol engine, a £255 premium over standard entry-level models.
Extra equipment worth £1000 is fitted, including an electrically operated hood and single-slot CD player – but buyers should demand big discounts on the soft-top, says What Car?’s editor, Rob Aherne.
‘The all-new Megane Cabriolet with its folding metal roof arrives in September and will have a severe impact on the residual values of the current range, so dealers will need to offer big savings on the current Cabrio to offset the effects,’ he said.
The all-new Megane drop-top is likely to cost from around £17,000.
