Fiat has launched Xbox special editions of the Punto supermini and Stilo small family car.
At £8995 the Punto Xbox is £100 cheaper than the 1.2-litre Active Sport model it is based on but comes fitted with extra equipment worth £600. The Stilo version costs £600 more than a standard 1.6 Active Sport but has added kit worth £1500.
Both cars have black metallic paint, an MP3 digital music player, uprated speakers and steering wheel-mounted stereo controls. The Stilo is also fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels and air-conditioning.
James Harding, Whatcar.com editor, said: ‘The Xbox special editions represent good value for money as long as buyers haggle with dealers for a discount.
‘Aim to get at least 14% knocked off the price of a Punto and 20% off a Stilo. Don’t let dealers tell you that they can’t offer a discount – they have just as much margin in these special editions as a standard model.’
Buyers also get an Xbox games console with the cars and a preview version of the Forza Motorsport video game, which goes on sale in April 2005. Fiat will produce 1300 of the cars in total, so expect them to be available until around May 2005.
