BMW has launched Sport versions of its 5-series saloon and estate range featuring an aggressive bodykit, lower, stiffer suspension and a new-look cabin.
Priced from £29,950 for a 520i saloon and £33,150 for a 525i Touring estate, the cheapest Sport models are £3450 more expensive than their SE equivalents. Premiums on more expensive versions range between £2150 and £3550.
Mimicking the forthcoming 507bhp M5 which arrives next spring, the Sport cars have a new front bumper with a wider air intake than standard versions as well as flared side sills and 18-inch alloy wheels unique to the trim level.
The updated rear bumper includes parking sensors as standard, while customers can also specify a boot spoiler for a further £135.
The tuned suspension uses some parts from the M5 to provide a more agile drive, and sees the car drop by 15mm. BMW claims the revisions do not hamper ride comfort
Inside the cabin, Sport models are fitted with part-cloth, part-leather upholstery, aluminium trim and a multi-function steering wheel as standard.
At the other end of the range, the 5-series will eventually be offered with a standard trim level, which should see the entry-level price fall to around £25,000.
