Subaru Forester owners and buyers who find their 208bhp off-roader a little slow can now opt for a 44bhp power-upgrade pack.
With reprogrammed electronics and a modified exhaust system, the £1600 Prodrive Performance Pack cuts the Forester 2.5 XT’s 0-60mph sprint time from 6.0sec to just 5.5sec.
The only Forester available for upgrade is the 2.5 XT, which costs £26,700 with the performance pack fitted. Although official figures are not available, the off-roader’s top speed is likely to increase from 140mph. Fuel consumption will be worse than that of the standard car, which returns 25.7mpg on the combined cycle.
The performance pack leaves the Forester’s three-year/60,000-mile warranty unaffected and will be available at all Subaru dealers from early June. It is also available for the Impreza saloon and estate.
